Heyo altogether, how are you doing?

We had a school project over the last weeks, we should read a book. I took the graphic novel “Speak”. When I first looked at this book, I knew it would be interesting for me to read.

The book is a novel especially for teenagers but also for young adults. Laurie Halse Anderson is the writer of the book. She is an American author. Emily Carroll is a Canadian writer, she is the girl. the book is about. She also worked on the book with the team.

Plot:

“Speak” is about a young girl that was hurt by an older guy. She lived a normal life like everyone else. But one day she threw a party, and no one thought it would end like that. She called the police and ruined her own party by doing so. Since the party she has been a quiet person. And she keeps falling, everything is getting harder and worse. It seems like she never stops falling, it's getting worse and worse. But then she decided to change everything.

My opinion of the book:

I think the book is so cool to read. It is sometimes hard to understand at first but when you go and read on you are going to get the message about the book. The topic from the book is very intense. When I read the book, I often stopped reading and thought about it for a moment. It has a powerful message, and this is beautiful because when I read it, I could almost feel her, I really understood her, and I really got into this book. I think many people in their teenage years get into problems or get very sad because of that one guy... . And because of that I did like the book so much because it focusses on things that young people are confronted with often.

Recommendation:

I would recommend this book to everyone. For young people this novel is cool, because they might sometimes feel the same as the girl in the book does. And for older people it would be interesting to immerse themselves in the world of the younger ones. And the pictures in this book help you to understand it easier. So this is a book for nearly everyone that likes to read.
