Children of Time

Have you ever heard of the science fiction book „Children of Time“? No? Perfect, well, I recently borrow

ed it from my teacher, because we were having a reading competition and I decided to write a blog entry about this book. And I am glad I did! As a matter of fact, I really have to say that this is one of the best books I´ve ever read and I want to reach out to other students too and convince them to read that book! It is really well written, and it can improve your English skills, especially on the vocabulary level. So, you really have to check it out !

But what is this book actually about? Well, in this book, our earth is about to die. Humanity is on the brink of extinction. A crew of selected adults are sent to the new Eden. A planet, which has already been prepared for human life by terraforming. But they are in for a surprise! As they approach their potential home, they have to find out, that this new Eden is not as empty as they would have liked and face their worst nightmares. They have no idea what to expect on their new journey and are about to find out as soon as the spaceship lands on the ground. Besides that, it is really adventurous and full of creative ideas on how technology could evolve in this universe. I would really love to give you more information about this book, but it is just too go

od to spoil it, So the best way to know more about it, is by reading it by yourself.

All in all, I hope I spark some interest in this book. Actually, I really have to say that there is no other science-fiction book out there, which could compete with it. Not Star Wars nor Star Trek or whatever, sorry Jar Jar Binks and Captain Kirk fans. By the way, the book was written by Adrian Tchaikovsky, and it has also won the Arthur C.clarke award in sfx and was released by “pan”. In fact, there is a second part already available: “Children of Ruin”. Personally, I cannot wait to see how the story is going to continue.
