Anya's Ghost

Welcome to our blog! Today I have a book review for you. Our class has recently read a book called Anya’s ghost.

The book was written by Vera Brosgol. It’s not a normal book but a comic, meaning it is full of pictures and much easier and quicker to read! It’s a quick and fun read that everybody can enjoy! I really liked the artstyle of this comic too. It’s simple but you can also clearly feel the expressions on their faces. The cover itself is interesting and mysterious. It’s not revealing too much, but I got interested in reading this book immediately.

The plot is something I also enjoyed. It’s about how Anya falls into a deep pit and discovers a ghost. Like every person would react, Anya is frightened and wants to get out as fast as possible. She finds this cheerful ghost quite annoying at first, but after the ghost followed Anya out of the pit, she grows kind of fond of her new friend. Little did she know how fast the tables would turn on her.

I enjoyed every part of this book, but I especially liked Anya’s mother. She is such a nice and perfectly written character! Her design is also very appealing.

I recommend this book to mostly teenagers, but adults might also enjoy this book.
