American Born Chinese

Hello Everybody!

We had to read a book at school again. It was a graphic novel again, my second English comic, and I was pretty excited to read it. :) I chose this book because I really liked the cover and I was interested in the synopsis.

There are three separate stories in the comic. Each of these three parts is about a specific person who feels uncomfortable in their environment.

The first part of the story is about the "monkey king", the others don't take him seriously and so he tries to learn kung fu and improve his skills.

The second story is about "Jin",a young Chinese American, he thinks he won't fit in school.

Danny is in high school, changing schools every year after his cousin Chin-kee visits him and completely embarrasses him.

The cover of the book is simple but the book promises what you would expect.

This book conveys very well what it's like to be different and it takes a lot of courage to accept this. You should always believe in yourself. It also shows how important friendship is in life, you see that you are never alone. I was particularly shocked by the ending of the book as it took a great turn.

What I can tell you is that this is a comic book to be enjoyed!

If you looking for a new book to read, I really recommend it.

American born Chinese is a fun and good read. Well worth your time.
